Amber Cardinal joins St. John’s as Choir Director

Amber Cardinal is joining St. John’s as our new Choir Director for the 9:30 service this fall!

Amber is a Woodbury resident and a 2019 graduate of Western Connecticut State University.  She earned a B.S. in Music Education with a Vocal Concentration, magna cum laude, while also being enrolled in the Honors Program.  She completed her student teaching assignments at Hill and Plain Elementary School in New Milford, and Swift Middle School in Oakville.

This fall, she starts her post-graduation career as a music teacher at Long Meadow Elementary School in Middlebury.  Amber is a member of the National Association for Music Education and the American Choral Directors Association.

Amber also teaches voice and piano at Southbury Music Studio and volunteers at Ridgefield Crossings Senior Living Community.

She was very involved in performance groups while at WestConn, as a member of the Concert Choir,Opera Ensemble, Chamber Singers, University Choir, and Vocal Jazz Ensemble.
