Welcome Rev. David Rhodes, Deacon

The Rev. David Rhodes joined St. John’s as our new Deacon in April 2018.  He will assist Rev. Mike Carroll, our Missional Priest, with pastoral care and outreach.

David and his wife Rosemarie returned to Connecticut in July of 2017 and live in Beacon Falls. They have four children and seven grandchildren. David, a “cradle Episcopalian”, was ordained a Deacon in February of 2015 by the Bishop of San Diego following graduation from the Diocesan School for Ministry (SFM) and completed the four year Education for Ministry Program (EfM) in 2016. Most recently served as Deacon-in-charge of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Indio, CA, and clergy staff at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Palm Desert.

Prior to entering into Formation and Candidacy, David served The Diocese of San Diego on the Outreach and Audit Committees at St. Margaret’s, Palm Desert, on Bishop’s Committee at Episcopal Church of the Apostles as Treasurer and formerly as Pastoral Leader to St. John’s, Indio. David served for one year on The Executive Committee of The Diocese of San Diego. Deacon David served as a member of the Chaplin’s staff at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, CA and Waterbury Hospital, Waterbury. He also has experience as a Spiritual Care Counselor at Betty Ford Center, Rancho Mirage, CA.

David, a Vietnam Veteran (USAF), is a graduate of Rider University, BS in Commerce, and retired Surety/Insurance Executive who served on the Board of Developers Surety and Indemnity, The Insco Dico Group and The Surety Association of America. David enjoys traveling with Rose and visits to distant streams and rivers with fly rod and waders.
