Dear Friends,
I wanted to give you the update on the future of the Waterbury Youth Chorus. After much consideration by the Church Street Community Services Board, the board has decided that the Waterbury Youth Chorus program will end, and will not continue next fall.
The board and I are sad to relay this news, but they felt it was the best decision taking into account the needs to restructure the program, the budget, and the enrollment which were beyond the capabilities of the current model. This is no reflection on the board’s love for this program, and they have been a great support to the WYC over the years. We have been able to do wonderful events because of their efforts.
I would like to thank everyone on the board for all they have done for us over the past five years. I am grateful for the time we spent together, and I wish all of our WYC families the best as your children hopefully continue to sing in school, church and other community choruses. Thank you to the students’ families and the Church Street Communities Board for your support of the Waterbury Youth Chorus.
