Henry J. Friez, 97, of Watertown, passed away peacefully at home early Saturday morning, January 9, 2016. He was the husband of the late Mary (Hobbie) Friez who preceded him in death in 2009.A lifelong member of St. John’s Episcopal Church on the Green in Waterbury, he and his late wife were fixtures there. Up until his late 80’s, it was Henry’s job for years to climb the stairs of the St. John’s steeple to change the clock twice a year for daylight savings time. His was the familiar face you saw as head usher whenever you attended services. Henry’s presence will be deeply missed. |
