Welcome, Brett Figlewski

On Sunday, September 10, 2017, please welcome Brett Figlewski to the St. John's family!

Brett is postulant for Holy Orders in the Episcopal Church in Connecticut.  He grew up in Harwinton, Conn., and now lives in New York City during the week and Sharon, Conn., on weekends.  After studying political science in college, Brett spent a year as a VISTA volunteer in Puerto Rico.  Afterwards, he went to law school and now works as a lawyer on cases of gender violence, family law, and LGBT rights.  Brett’s recent field placements as a postulant have been with congregations in the towns of Cornwall, Watertown, and Kent, where he assisted in liturgical duties, Bible study, pastoral care, and preaching.  He is also a member of the Northwest Region Leadership Team and helped start a ministry network to care for the local environment.  Brett enjoys spending time with his family, watching historical dramas, and stumbling upon stone walls when walking in the Connecticut woods.
