A Cool Yule Christmas Jazz Concert

On Sunday, December 17 at 4:00pm, St. John's Episcopal Church is pleased to present parishioner-pianists Steve and Rosemary Minkler (and wife/mom Karen!) and their musical guests for the 14th edition of A Cool Yule -- an Annual Holiday Jazz Concert featuring light, contemporary, and jazzy arrangements of Christmas and holiday music.  It’s a great time to take a break from this most hectic season, and to recapture the warmth and heart of the holiday spirit.
 
Joining Steve and Rosemary are the St. John's Choir and St. John's Jazz Ensemble, featuring Larry Davis, Samantha Feliciano, Andre Foote, Tim Lewis, and Michael Louchen, Jr.
 
Free admission -- tickets not required.

The Waterbury Chorale (90 singers) with The Waterbury Chorale Festival Orchestra (21 musicians), will be performing Rutter’s Magnificat, and many holiday favorites such as Carol To The King, Festival Gloria, Sing Noel, Personent Hodie, Winter’s Heart, Ring Those Bells, and Anderson’s A Christmas Festival.

This afternoon's performance is a showcase of the compositions featured on Rosemary Minkler's debut album, entitled Prospectus. This self-produced album features all original music performed by Rosemary on piano and vocals, Jeff Moro on bass, and Eric Hallenbeck on drums.  Rosemary has been a member of St. John's since birth, and leads an ensemble of musicians at the church's monthly jazz music service. Spring Concert: Waterbury Youth Chorus & Bravo Waterbury

On Sunday, May 1, 2016, the Waterbury Youth Chorus and Bravo Waterbury! performed a spring concert at St. John's Church to an appreciative audience of about 75 people. Each group sang several pieces followed by the combined choirs singing "Imagine" by John Lennon.
