I would like to introduce myself to you as the new director of the Chorister Academy at St. John’s Episcopal Church. I’m very excited about this new opportunity to be a part of your church congregation and would like to take the time to tell you a little bit about myself. I am originally from Texas and grew up in a suburb of Dallas, called Flower Mound. In May 2011, I graduated from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education with a Concentration in Voice.  My fiancée, a singer as well, recently completed graduate school at Yale University, which brings me to Connecticut. Although Connecticut is quite different from Texas, I am thoroughly looking forward to the famous fall colors, the much cooler summers and the experience of what a “White Christmas”, or rather an entire winter, will be like.

History

1737 is the year recognized by the Diocese of Connecticut as the beginning of St. John's Church. Anglicans, then Episcopalians, have worshipped at St. John's for 260 years ever since.
