1737 is the year recognized
by the Diocese of Connecticut as the beginning of St. John's Church. Anglicans,
then Episcopalians, have worshipped at St. John's for 260 years ever since.

- Peter Vileisis, owner of Waterbury Wrecking Co., holds up a newspaper found inside a time capsule, sealed in 1890, that was inside the cornerstone.
