VESTRY MEETING MINUTES
December 9, 2002

In attendance: J. Anthony, R. Baril, V. Bush, L. Castle, F. Daddona, S. Chesnas, R. Lee, B. Ladden, E. Young, G. Zucca, Bill Garretson, Jr. Warden; Pam Toffey, Sr. Warden; Pat Daniels, Parish Clerk; Steve Minkler, Treasurer; Malinda Johnson, Curate; The Rev. Dr. James Bradley

The meeting started at 7:40pm
November 2002 Meeting Minutes Accepted as printed. 
Treasurer's Report
  1. Reviewed and accepted as printed.
  2. The proceeds from the Bazaar totaled approximately $6300.
    MOTION: The Bazaar and Finance Committees recommend the following use of the Bazaar proceeds: $1500. to Outreach Fund,
    500. to Camp Washington
    500. to the Hispanic Ministry
    500. to the Youth Ministry
    Remaining funds to go into the Budde Fund.
    All in favor.
House Committee Report The Electrical Study Committee has met two times and they are currently in the study phase. No other issues this month.
Senior Warden's Report
  1. Thank you note received from the Holy Cross Monastery for the $250. donation.
  2. Letter received from Jack Spaeth stating that we have contributed $37,000. to the Diocesan Pledge this year; a 12% contribution would be $60,000. under the current calculations.
    MOTION: As recommended by the Financial Council, by the year 2007 we will meet our 12% diocesan pledge. All in favor.
  3. Proposed 2003 budget reviewed; to be finalized in January 2003.
Junior Warden's Report

Discernment group #3 went well. Invites will be sent to new individuals for a January 8th start date. To date there have been over 50 participants.

Curate's Report
  1. Malinda’s ordination date will be December 14th at the Cathedral in Hartford.
  2. We have 15 acolytes in training.
Rector's Report
  1. Nominating Committee – there are 6 spots open for the Vestry next year. Rotating off are: Stan Chesnas, Verdell Bush, Frank Daddona, Richard Lee, Sue Jefferson, Lorene Castle.
    Five members have agreed to nomination: Bob Toffey, Karen Minkler, Virginia Cole, Dorothy Raleigh, Don Pomeroy. There are still contacts being made for the other vacancy.
    Pam Toffey will be completing her term as Senior Warden. Lorene Castle has agreed to be nominated for the position.
  2. Schedule for the Annual Meeting: 8:00 a.m. Breakfast
    9:00 a.m. combined service
    10:00 Annual Meeting
Other
  1. A meeting will be held in January to discuss this year's fair and plans for next year.
  2. Steve Minkler will present his first piano recital on Saturday, 12/14/02, at 4:00 p.m. at the church.
