Saint John’s Wings

The purpose of St. John’s Wings is:

  • To increase and retain in-pew and virtual membership in the congregation.
  • To increase fundraising and community involvement efforts.
  • To obtain all local, state, and federal grants that St. John’s may be eligible for.
  • To collaborate and ally with other NFP organizations.

Scope:

  • To plan and implement inventive and creative fundraising events to help alleviate some of the burden on the Church’s budget and to gain some “seed monies” to further and expand the overall efforts. These events should be geared toward bringing new people into our community (i.e., should look outward, not inward).
  • To plan and implement methods and means of attracting and retaining new members, focusing on families. This is to include both physical, “in pew” members, and our on-line, “virtual” membership. This to maintain and increase our base income in order to achieve a balanced budget.
  • To investigate the various local, state, and federal grants available and to apply for all that are possible. This is to include grants for required roof maintenance, maintenance to heating and plumbing, all other infrastructure needs, as well as any upgrades required to maintain or increase community outreach programs.
  • To seek partnerships with other area Not for Profit organizations. This will increase the likelihood of obtaining grants and increase St. John’s exposure.

All of these activities will begin to bring purpose to St. John’s Episcopal Church once again.
